Philosophy

 

I will provide a warm and caring environment for children 0 to 10 years of age. The daycare strives to duplicate the child’s home atmosphere when meeting the individual needs, but at the same time provide a challenging and stimulating program that is conductive to social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.

 

My Goal

 

I believe that every child should have the opportunity to develop a positive self-image through appropriate and challenging experiences. Activities are at times structured to provide guidance and also unstructured to allow for free individual expression. I will work with your child to develop the skills and knowledge they will need to be successful in starting their schooling and in life. I hope to stimulate development through effective communication and encouraging problem solving. These principals provide not only the basis for growth of social skills but also help to lay the foundation for co-operative spirit through which we strive to appreciate the diversity in our community.

 

Hours of Operation

 

I will be open Monday to Friday 7:30am-5pm (earlier or later times can be arranged if required). If something prevents you from picking up your child by closing time please notify me as soon as possible.

 

Daily Arrival and Departure

 

Upon arriving at the daycare please help your child out of his/her outdoor clothing. Please remember that only those people you have listed on your child’s authorization card will be allowed to pick up your child. Holidays I will be closed all statutory holidays (see below). Regular fees DO apply for these days (including part-time children who would normally attend on the day of the holiday).

Absences and Absences Due to Illness

 

If your child will not be attending for any reason please let me know as soon as possible. If your child is absent for any reason and no effort is made to inform me you will be expected to pay for that day. Please keep sick children home, you will be allotted 12 sick days a year where fees will not be charged.

 

Vacations

 

Parents will receive ample notice of any vacation time I will be taking during these time fees will be at a reduced rate of $30 per day . If parents take additional vacation time I require at least 2 weeks notice and no fees will be charged.

 

Withdrawing/Discharging a Child

 

I require 4 weeks written notice or 4 weeks payment of fees when withdrawing a child from the daycare. A child will be discharged for non-payment of fees and/or I am unable to meet the child’s needs.

 

Fees

 

$40.00 per child/day

$75.00 2 children/day

$110.00 3 children/day

$20.00 ½ day no lunch

$25.00 ½ day with lunch

 

Payment of Fees

 

Fees are payable by cheque, cash or emt, cheques are to be made out to Trisha Brannan. Fees are due every two weeks. Receipts are issued yearly unless otherwise requested. Please retain your receipts for income tax purposes.

 

Personal Belongings

 

Please label all items clearly with your child’s name, each child is required to have -a complete change of clothing -a blanket for nap time -a toothbrush For children in diapers, diapers and wipes must be provided by the parents. I also ask that children arrive in clothing appropriate for the weather.

 

Behaviour Management

 

I strive to create a supportive environment in which children learn to respect one another. When a behaviour incident does occur I will: -remind the child of the rules -redirect the child to another activity -positively reinforce appropriate behaviour -talk to the child about the nature of the problem and encourage problem solving through self-control and communication.
